"The moment you completely accept your non-peace, your non-peace becomes transmuted into peace. Anything you accept fully will get you there... This is the miracle of surrender."
My personal journey of wrestling with waves of intensities of sinus pain, took me to seek out a variety of different medical professionals over the years. Without any conclusive resolve, clear findings, or a path forward in recommendations from professionals and doctors, it motivated me to experiment with several styles of non traditional healing approaches. Surrender may be one of the most interesting ones, and it's turning out to be a powerful aid in my healing, and helping me find balance.
It has taken me many of trial and errors with Surrender, to find a way that is actually working for me.
In this practice of Surrender, I am understanding it as, not a decision of giving up, but a choice of giving in. To listen to our life.
In that sense, surrender is not the end, but rather the beginning..
"One Deep Breath" is a weekly mindful newsletter that brings heart connected content straight to your inbox. Each edition features easy to read insights, and personally practiced tools to share and support you in deepening your felt connection to the present moment and the wonders of the world around you.
Through my varied attempts towards healing, it has drawn me to to look at my own behaviour, choices, and potential influence on the symptoms.
A significant part of my healing journey results, I can attest to finding and practicing IFS, parts work, which has helped me bring curiosity to and begin to understand how particular "parts" of mine had learned to keep me in "imbalanced doing mode", imbalanced thinking, and behaviours with underpinnings of unhealed childhood wounds, and fear (Stress response).
The original symptoms began around the time of my career I was working in Townhome development/project management, with periods of prolonged high stress. To this day, my sinuses can amplify, and can take me out if I neglect my body, and abuse my stress levels.
I do feel a large contributor and exacerbation of my symptoms, have stemmed from chronic Stress.
My curiosity and desire for healing, has drawn me towards exploring the science of fear/ stress, and how it shows up in individuals in different ways.
What this research has opened my eyes to, is the extreme collective suffering that's currently resulting out of stress imbalances shared in common areas of our modern day lives.
In learning to heal, and take care of myself, through daily practice, and experimentations, I'm learning what works for my own parts.
This inner exploration, and continued relationship to my parts, is helping me relate to my body, and my sinuses in new and more balanced ways.
I distilled the practice into something I could easily reference, and remember and practice during my day to day life.
I feel it could also benefit others facing similar stress imbalances.
I am calling the practice, the 8 L's to Life Leadership, a simplified Strategy for Stress Resilience.

It is based on the principles of IFS & Parts work, but expands to include actionable strategies that I have discovered along my own healing journey, as well as from personal life experiences, project management and coaching work, along the way. I see it as a practical, and wholistic way to meet daily stressors, and move towards a more balanced, peaceful, and authentic expression of our lives.
With the current state of our world, and the growing statistics on stress, and anxiety. I feel this can both serve me, and another experiencing similar struggle, pain, or imbalance.
Before we get to the actual strategies of Stress Resilience. I want to share some of the research that has helped deepen my awareness and understanding of Stress (fear response), and how it commonly shows up in individuals in mind, body, and behaviour.
In making myself aware of how Stress works, what it has done for me is more deeply solidified my habits and commitment towards managing stress in a more grounded, and purpose aligned way.
Over the next several weeks I will be releasing a Blog series on Stress Resilience with the core focus on helping bring curiosity to your own system, and experience of stress.
Sharing techniques and strategies that I have found to be helpful. My goal is to support you in designing a plan to help balance your stress response in a way that works for your life situation, and unique nervous system.
BEFRIENDING OUR STRESS RESPONSES as a path towards
MORE TRUTH, EXPRESSION, & POSSIBILITY.
Each weekly blog will explore different dimensions of how Stress shows up in our lives. I have learned the deepening of awareness and understanding of stress itself, is a large part of the healing, and re balancing process.
With the final weeks focused on Practical and Actionable strategies through the practice of Surrender/Expression and the 8 L's of Life Leadership that can help us move towards our unique values, and what I see as the 3 Pillars of Fulfillment (Health, Relationships, & Meaningful Work).

Surrender Invitation: Watching your life
The invitation for this week..
Is to do nothing.
Change nothing.
Live exactly as you do.
The only difference; is this time you are paying non judgemental attention.
In staying genuinely curious of our behaviours, accepting them completely as they are (rather than constantly allowing our inner critic to vocalize it's opinion, resist, and fight with our experience).
We start experiencing our life, from a new perspective. Temporary unconditional acceptance offers us new insight into the patterns that shape our life.
Insight, and inner understanding is the gateway to personal freedom and change.
Sharing in a Collective breath.
In Love,
Greg
